Liebao CS7 hybrid SUV unveiled

The Liebao CS7 Hybrid SUV is the first of its kind in China. Liebao which is not a big car manufacturer is venturing into the hybrid trend. Some may think, so many chinese carmaker plunge into the hybrid technologies should make us think it is not so hard to make hybrid cars. Maybe. But the current sales of the BYD F3DM are not encouraging, showing that the public in China is not ready to buy those kind of green cars. At the Shanghai Auto Show, Liebao has showed the CS7 Hybrid SUV. Let's peek into this green car by Liebao.

Putting a CVT on a car is quite rare, putting on an hybrid is even more rare. Compared to the classic gasoline version of the CS7 SUV, besides the transmission, all mechanical parts are the same.

Changfeng is a carmaker based in the Hunan Province, its representatives detail the characteristics of the CS7 Hybrid SUV : thermic engine of 1.3liter, Max power 65 kW at 6000 rpm, max torque of 120 N;m at 4200 rpm, the electric motor ISG of 10 kW, and the transmission is a CVT (continuous Variable Transmission). The battery voltage is 288 V, 30 Ah, Lithium based, and the range is 50km in full electric mode. The electric motor can recover the mechanical energy at braking phase (alternator).

The dimensions of the Liebao CS7 Hybrid SUV are : 4210mm x 1730mm x 1700 mm with a 2550 mm between wheel axis. The Liebao SUV passes the Euro 4 standard. In China it's the first time that carmaker consider reducing the consumption of the SUV, the displacement of the Liebao CS7 Hybrid SUV is only 1300 cc ! If the car runs solely on its internal combustion engine, it won't be very nervous.
